Halloween

Most of you probably saw these on facebook, but my Mom and sister don't have facebook and wanted to see the kids, so here they are.  These were actually taken at the Halloween carnival that Shawn and I helped at.  It is a good thing, because the evening of Halloween turned out to be hectic, and no pictures were taken.

We caught Cade unaware in this picture.  Note that his costume was cheap.  The cape I got at the store for 4 dollars the day before Halloween, and the necklace was 50 cents at same store.  The rest was his.  Oh yeah the scarf was mine.  I also got his some black hairspray for his hair, and the white makeup for his face.  I think it turned out really nice.

I am not a bad Vampire - I'm nice!!

Ethan was Captain Jack Sparrow.  His costume wasn't too expensive, at least not now.  The pants and shirt I bought clear last year, when he was a peasant in his play.  So he just used them again.  I got the boot topers and the hat with wig attached.  He also had a beard and earring that he lost, but I think it turned our really well.  The sash is from one of Makae's old dance costumes.

He wanted a drunk picture, but I never knew anyone who got buzzed from Coke!

Jace chose this costume, a ninja, and wore it for a total of 2 hours.  We took pictures, and he played, and then went home and changed, and came back as - Yep - Harry Potter.  That makes every year but one (last year he was Mario) since he was 3 as Harry Potter.  He was Harry Potter Halloween night too.

Makae was Cinderalla.  This costume was not cheap, but in actual money it was only 20 dollars, thank heavens for amazon bucks.  She is actually wearing the hoop underneath backwards, which is why you see it, but it was too late to switch.  We got the wig, and the tiara is mine from long ago.  I think she looks nice.  Everyone says she looks just like me with Blonde hair, but I have yet to see it.

This is a picture of her and her friend Tori.  Tori is wearing Makae's costume from last year.
All in all the kids really enjoyed Halloween.  That evening, Makae went out with friends, as did Ethan.  Cade wanted to stay home and hand out candy.  We got a fog machine the day before Halloween which was on 70% clearance as well, so it was pretty cool.  I got to take Jace around, which wasn't too bad.  He doesn't like going to far.  Once his bag is about 1/2 full he figures he has enough candy and is ready to go home.  I am okay with that.  I was a change with the whole family not being together.  I missed not going to Grandpa Merritt's and visiting and showing off costumes.

I think I missed these on facebook. Glad you put them on here. They are all really great costumes. A full picture of Rhone is coming to our blog soon (hopefully).

I am glad to get to see Jace - neat ninja costume. He makes a fantastic Harry Potter so don't feel too bad. I can still remember him coming home from kindergarten very disgusted because he hadn't learned how to read yet - he wanted to be able to read the spells!! You did very well with all of the costumes. And yes, grandpa Merritt missed you guys too. Mauri and kids made it there though which I thought was fantastic.
